Default Fallen Georgia Officer's Family Angered by Execution Delay(the other side )

ATLANTA --
After a Georgia inmate convicted of murdering a police officer was spared from execution a second time, the condemned man's widely publicized supporters erupted in joy. But far from television cameras, the victim's family seethed.
"My son is dead. Theirs is still alive," said Anneliese MacPhail, the officer's mother. "That's just the way I feel."
Arm-in-arm with the Rev. Al Sharpton, Troy Davis' exultant family and a busload of supporters sang, wept and prayed Tuesday when they learned he was granted a temporary reprieve from the U.S. Supreme Court just hours before he was to be executed.

Default Re: Fallen Georgia Officer's Family Angered by Execution Delay(the other side )

This is another side of the Death Penalty we often do not hear about . A family's anger and hurt is nursed by Cops and prosecutors for years to get a person executed even in a case where there appears to be serious questions about both Davis's guilt and the behavior of cops and prosecutors who had a convict any one at all cost mentality simply because the victim was a cop .

I can't imagine finding any peace in some ones death . It appears to be literally destroying the dead cops family as they want a execution and who ever is labeled guilty even with serious questions involving both their guilt and possible criminal behavior by cops and prosecutors to get a false conviction . Had he gotten a life sentence and a realistic opportunity to make his case ADEPA takes that away and is a horrible law that should be found unconstitutional as it restrains the courts from using their discretion and erodes thier independence from other branches of government . it also increases the odds of a innocent person being executed . Fear and hype make for bad laws this is one that should be trashed come January if not them when a new court with a less rightwing judges hears it .
The dead cops family should not have been used by the state as a means ot a execution . I doubt they wlil have any peace or clousre . There will always be some doubt no matter what happens now . had the Cops and prosecutors done their jobs correctly instead of convict and convict anyone at all costs this would not be going on.
