For those who remember cleo , or who may have seen her recent thread about coming to the states I just thought I would post a little update

Cleo and the family have made it to the states and are on their way to Georgia.

We were able to get all of the documents sorted out so she can visit her pal. (They have been pals for a very long time). I spoke to the counselor today and he was able to approve her visit for the weekend !!

I just wanted to update you all.

Her the hubby and kidsa are all here... but it looks likes as far as I can tell it will only be here visiting. a little mix up in the paperwork but at least she will get to visit.

Hey all,

Just wanted to say that we did get to visit my penpal at the weekend. It was great to finally meet him and I know he will remember and cherish it forever. I saw him first for a few hours and then my husband went in to meet him at the end. Thanks so much to Skye for helping me organise it. Without her it never would have happened.

what a lovely family you have the children are just beautiful it gave me chills to read about your prison visit not bad ones but the good kind what a difference you made in this mans life God bless you both
just wanted to add the part about the cherry pie and the talk with your husband and what he wants done once he is gone really made me want to cry it was so touching

Just read your blog and plan to go back and read all of you. You did a great job of writing your experiences both at the prison and on the road, etc. I am so glad you were able to get in to visit your pal - I know it meant the world to him and he will treasure the memories.

If you come near Birmingham, AL, let me know - I would love to meet you and your lovely family.

We will be in Alabama in about 5 days time. Not sure where Birmingham is. We are driving across the gulf coast so will be right at the bottom of AL, although we plan to drive about the place a bit. Is that anywhere near you? We are on Mexico Beach at the moment. Loving it here.

Birmingham is approximately a little north of the middle of the state. If you are staying along the gulf it would be way out of your way - but if you decide to come this way, let me know. I so envy you, it sounds like a wonderful experience for your entire family - and what a wonderful bonding!!

I met them on the Sunday they were here. They are a wonderful family. I am so jealous of the experience they are having. Until their trip here, I had no idea you could even rent an RV lol.

I am so fortunate I was able to meet them, they are an awesome family.
