is every bodys power back on now? my daughter has a few friends on her BEBO, and HABBO, who were getting ready for IKE, but she hasnt heard anything from them, i keep telling her they might not have internet even if they did have power, but she is still worried,

Hi all, as Skye said, we are all fine, good to know a fellow Houston Wapster, Merrill is fine too!

Just gave up waiting no internet access, so now I have dial up until my broadband is up to get on the internet. Dial up sucks, its slow as mud.
As SKye stated we got our power back last Tuesday, and she was on the phone with me when it came on. The power went off around midnight on Friday the 12th, and the howling of the winds and debri flying kicked in. It was a long night the worst time for a Hurricane to kick in thru the night.

We were blessed just a fence a a large tree in the back yard came down, which was no where near our house. Lots of items from somewhere, lol all over our yard. It was exhausting cleaning up still not completely done, and trying to get gas in long lines, was fun too. Food was hard to get since many stores had to clean shelves and wait for trucks to be able to get in.

First time ever there was a curfew for all, off the streets or a fine of 5000 bucks, to keep people safe with power lines down, trees and no working lights, also many stop signs blown down or completely gone. The curfew all had to be off the roads by 9pm.

Jon took it in stride since the first Hurricane he has experienced, this would be my second, which was back around 1981 which was Alicia. The furry ones were well behaved but, a bit nervous and stuck close to us thru the night of the Hurricane. We stayd at home, and thru the night we all were in an inside room to try to sleep, odd feeling to have no contact with the outside world and all goes dark. I had a color TV, many batteries to keep her on, which for two days was the only contact we had.

Good to be back and glad that is over and bringing life back to normal each day steps at a time.

We also got a phone call this morning from Pennylane and her BF, both are as we knew would be happy and all is going well for both. He is already working, and big plans for them ahead. I love watching and listening to them, it is one happy relationship that Jon and I knew was RIGHT!!!!
