lets all pray for those millions of people in the Galveston Houston path that are evacuating right now that they get out of there safe and sound and they come home to their homes still intact i believe peanut is in that area my prayers are with her and her family  |

Well, we are hunkered down and have everything ready for Ike, as I am sure Merrill, our other member who lives in Houston is too. Appears it will hit late tonight, or early hours of Saturday morning. They have made mandatory evacuations to all of Galvestion and inbetween counties and some of the outskirts of folks in Harris county" Houston. Hope all effected by this storm stay safe, Thanks Dragon for the prayers, for us and families involved.

Blanketing all in Ike's path with thoughts and prayers for safety (and power).

Well, for us it is the calm before the storm, not much left to do but, just wait ...  The aftermath of no electric for who knows how long, with the heavy heat and humidity will be the tough part too. See you all later when can get online. Jon and Yvonne and furry ones of course.

Everything has been secured except the hummingbird feeder as they are still feasting now just before 1 pm and the front mailbox. We are not in evacuation areas and as Peanut said just hunker down. My prayers to all those that have to work today in all of this and for those insane folks who just do not get the words "mandatory evacuation".  |

Water is already all over Galvestoon and they see it as being completely submerged and also Texas City to become part of the Guilf of Mexico. For atleast twelve hours. Unreal !!! Like Merrill stated some even though "Mandatory Evacuation" there did not leave.
