| | Re: A blood transfusion, It's new to me. I am not familiar, at all, with Hepatitis C. However, I do know that this kind of transfusion was a part of my sister-in-law's recovery from cancer. She had contracted cancer on 5 different occasions and had endured surgery, chemo therapy and radiation. Finally, the 5th time, they told her that she had "lymphoma" or a cancer of the lymph glands, and that the cancer was throughout all of her body. There was no known cure, but there was one experimental treatment that they could try.
They took a sample of her blood marrow and then radiated her body, killing everything, including her white corpuscles and other components of her blood that were necessary for life. Then, using the sample that they took, they recreated her blood, synthetically, and replaced all of her old blood, via transfusion.
Today, she is a poster child for cancer recovery. All of her hair has grown back and she is as strong, healthy and as happy as you could ever expect anyone to be. She has even gotten two part-time jobs, just for the fun of it. She is a "people" person and works in a tourist information center and in a fudge shop on Michigan's Mackinac Island. If you didn't know, you would never guess that she was a cancer survivor.
So, good luck to your sister, theotherlondon. I, for one, do believe in miracles and that modern medicine, while it may not be perfect, can still do wonders for people who need it. |

| | Re: A blood transfusion, It's new to me. london it is now commonly used and very effective. I hope all works well for your sister and she is feeling well once again. Like Xray my niece has made a full recovery and is living a normal life, hair and all, although it has grown back straight instead of curly....LOL. She has been in remission for many a year now. Sounds like something from an old horror movie. | Hi all, just an update my sister is doing a lot better now.
Even though she still has some Liver Damage things should
be ok and will be out of the hospital soon.
I hope after all this she has learned her lesson and can live
a clean and sober and safe life. |
