My sister is a member here. She is incarcerated in Fluvanna Correctional Center for women, in Troy, Va. She was convicted and sentenced in the tragic death of our mother who died in 2002. What happened was tragic for them both. Cindy was extremely ill, at the time, and is even worse now. She grieves all the time over the tragedy, altho she has no memory as to why, or what happened. I have written to lawyers all across the country, even called a few...with no offers of help. Cindy is not only sick physically.....her mental health is frail as well. She has suffered greatly in incarceration. Prison must be hard for someone who is well....but for someone who is sick, it has to be a daily nightmare. I also have a Petition, that I am trying to get all the signers I can, and then send it sometime soon, along with a request to the governor of Va, for clemency. I see this as her last resort. If this does not succeed, I fear she will indeed die in prison, because she is so sick. Thanks so much for your kind thoughts, and for signing. I would ask tho...any of you who sign...pls put your entire name. I have had no choice but reject a few because of this error. Just a first name can't be accepted. It doesn't identify the signer. Considering it is to go to the governor...they are very particular.
