Police Say Boy Couldn't Open Hands Because of Being Burned on Stove

A 5-year-old Los Angeles boy was fighting for his life today after suffering what police called one of the worst cases of child abuse they have seen, allegedly at the hands of his mother and her live-in girlfriend.

Police said the boy had countless cigarette burns all over his body, including his genitals, was unable to open his hands because he had been forced to put them flat on a hot stove, and was repeatedly beaten and forced to sit in his own urine.

"In my time in policing in 27 years, I have never seen anybody with these kinds of injuries that has lived," Los Angeles Police Department First Assistant Chief James McDonnell said. "And this kid must have a tremendous will to live to be able to still hang on despite what he's been through."

The boy's mother, Starkeisha Brown, 24, was arrested after she turned herself in to police on Friday evening.

Krystal Matthews, 19, who police described as Brown's live-in girlfriend, was arrested earlier Friday when she showed up for an appointment with the state Department of Children's Services, police said.

also read the artical on the dungon story and the case of the farrel child there are so many people who would love children but cant have any and it makes you wonder why in the world people like this were blessed enough to have children and then abused them

What the hell is the matter with these two? I just generally never think of lesbian couples as being capable of this kind of behavior. I wonder was there a specific motive? It sounds like they were collecting funds of some kind perhaps but for the abuse itself?

This is such a sad case, i find now more so than ever we are hearing stories such as this from all walks of life and areas. More people willing to speak out, more reports to Police instead of hushed gasps and silences of disbelief. It is truly sad.

I went out with a guy here in my younger years, he had been adopted out because of abuse at an early age. Had many scars that were seen and unseen. How his mum would take pleasure in putting out her cigarette's on his skin for no other reason than to amuse herself, so much more that honestly you would find hard to believe.
Their are many first hand stories i could share, the only thing that changes are names and addresses. Truly a sad reflection of some souls.

i hate this kind of stories realy i do so much it's horrible what this child (and many others)are going trough,it's ashame to sign those kids for life!!
