This behavior is common in the Middle East and unfortunately it is starting to happen more often in the United States. My Father was stationed (US Airforce) in a Middle Eastern country in the mid 50s and he took pix of this type of thing, they are horrid but very educational.

This is disgusting. I have seen photos of a young boy no older than 5, getting his arm run over by a car for stealing a piece of fruit. This type of behaviour is not acceptable, no matter what religion you are.

He was lucky they did not cut his hand off. That is normal action for theft.

I know. It's just so sad to think that if someone did that to a chid in the 'western world' that person would be punished, whereas it is acceptable in these places

That sad story reminds me of what happened in
Toronto recently where the Father murdered his
daughter in a so called "Honor Killing" because
she wouldn't marry the man her family picked
out for her.
