CHICAGO — To his family, Dannie Marchan was a good father, a loving brother, a man who lived to be a Chicago cop.

But in taking his own life Monday and the life of his 7-year-old daughter, Alizay, Marchan left his family with more questions than answers.

I am always sad when people choose suicide as an answer to life. My signifcant other's dad did this a few years ago. No able to live with issues from his past in his new sober life, he had a "gun accident". No explainations, nothing for the family, just the end. In 2000 I hit a similiar spot, in trouble with law and seem to be sprialling to heck, I talked with a therapist who saved my life to show me I was a "good guy" no matter what the courts said. Everyone has cjoices, I wish more would think about others and not just ending it all.

my childrens father chose suicide and I dont think any explaination will ever suite any loved ones. there is never a good enough reason.... its just something we learn to accept and move forward.
