DETROIT (AP) — Reported sightings of girls resembling 2-year-old Tangena Hussain have started, as have callous crank calls from people claiming to have found the girl's body.
Now, Nilufa Begum — a soft-spoken 24-year-old immigrant from Bangladesh — is caught up in multiple police investigations, FBI searches, polygraph tests and separate sexual assault charges against her boyfriend, who reported Tangena missing after a late night stop at a Detroit gas station.
Begum was being questioned by police Thursday afternoon, attorney Shawn Patrick Smith said. He was not sure if she was going to be given a polygraph.
