| It's easy to tell him now you should have seen the red flags, there are many people who are writing an Inmate and didn't see the red flags, because some get blind when it comes to their pp.It's easy to fall for what they tell you in their letters.Telling theirself oh he/she would never tell me any lies.If it really will work out could only tell time when he/she gets out. It just happens other ones but not me. I know no one wants to hear that stuff, but that's what could happen. This statement doesn't make no sence: *meant to say after i said to hold on to your wallet you cant buy someones love, so if its REAL love they wont want any money from you they wont ask for a penny.* Sorry but this is saying even if your gf,bf,wife,hb ask for money don't send him a penny... |

| Always a good idea to use a bit of common sense. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.Some people are not above telling lies to get what they want. After all these people are in Prison, for a reason, and dishonesty is something a lot of them will have had years of practise at .Always watch out for warning signs or as you put it "Red Flags". Of course some people are genuine and truthful, and are in prison because of one silly mistake, which they have learned their lesson over and it does make them look bad when someone else does something wrong , but cons ,scams and frauds DO happen just as much in prisons as they do outside.

But it's like on the outside, some wont see the red flags even if other ones tell them about these flags. |

| Pehaps i am mistaken but i thought that Inmates were/are not allowed to ask for money ?. If so how come the prison didn't pick up on it when they screened her letters?. I think there is a difference between sending money to someone you know and trust ( such as a relative, or spouse for example ) who needs it for the right reason, and the scamming inmates who want you to send large amounts of money when you hardly know them. Never send more than you can afford, a few $'s now and again can help a genuine inmate have everyday essentials, but when it comes to them wanting $100's you should ask yourself what do they need that kind of money for.

| perhaps again it's another of those different prisons. different rules things,? as most of the p/ps i write to say that they are not allowed to ask for money directly .They can give you details of how to send " donations", to their inmate account or the name and address of their lawyer if you wish to help with their legal bills, but whatever you choose to send is at your own choice, and you can certainly never expect to get any of it back.

| Well, i feel sorry for you, now you're broke and being used by someone you had feelings for, what a terrible thing. But hey after all you were indeed, in my mind, looking for trouble - saying Yes to a marriage proposal at the first visit ? And coming to the WAP in order to use it as a dating site ???!! Did you know what you were doing ? And the only thing you want to do is start over and use that site again as a dating site ???!! I think that real love who has shown up here btwn pps and inmates was the one that was NOT expected, the one who suprised both pps. Go to MATCH.COM or YAHOO PERSONALS, thousand of women, lonely and honest are looking for love - you'll be able to meet them in real life and not read their letters, and it'll be a lot different. I'm surprised you saw WAP as a dating site ! That's a hard way to grow up. I'm wondering what this woman was in jail for, but probably she was doing what she knew too well to : use people's feelings and rob them ! As for the Red Flags, since you only came on WAP for finding love, you couldn't see them, even if to us, after reading your story - they seemed obvious. You needed to believe all her bs and unfortunately you're paying for it. Well, a tough lesson but a good one, we all gotta learned. I'm myself pretty naive, I tend to trust people to easily and my heart got broken more than once but now I'm far more focused on what I do expect from people I know, and what I want to show them. Hope you find your other half in real life ! We all deserve it. |
