Talking Re: Hi Im new!

HI everyone

Thanks for all your replies and help.

I have decided to ignore the judgements, my boyfriend of 9 years says he understands my reasons and as long as he doesnt mind and trusts me. Thats all that matters.

Thats a good idea sending a card if i get no reply just incase he didnt receive letter.

I will let you know if I get a reply and look forward to making friends with everyone here. I will be on postman watch for two weeks how sad! lol

Thanks again

Fairygirl xx

Im sure if your boyfriend was writing female inmates, you would be supportive also. As long as the trust flows in both directions, I see no cause for worry/concern.

I agree with that asha. Its friends that think I am going mad and why would I write to someone in prison? etc etc. I was upfront in my letter about who I am, that I am attached, I can offer friendship. I have friends that live overseas that i regularly email I see no difference. and everyone has a past. I like to help people its in my nature and if I can help someone who is lonely feel less lonely then surely thats a good thing to do.

Good. Because as we all know, there can be problems in that respect, especially if the supportive spouse or boyfriend is also writing to female inmates. It happens...after all, they have been exposed to it where as they might not have been if you were not taking an interest in it initially. Anyway, good luck.

Welcome to wap. With recent change of poatal rates from 90 cents to 94 cents for first ounce, may have to wait for them to get right postage. Good luck on your adventures, I am a gay married fellow and write for friendship.

hi fairygirl! welcome to wap ^^
my friends were also a bit like "but why??? be careful!!" when I told them but now they have gotten used to the whole idea and understood that prisoners are just the same as other people are. my mom didn't like the idea at all, and my dad told me he was gonna punch the guy if he ever came here so they weren't that supportive in the beginning...I have two pen pals and now my mom understand why I like them both (they're great guys). I haven't talked to my dad about this anymore ;P he's so stubborn and judgmental, I just ignore his opinion.. and I understand that he's just worried. although there's just no reason to be. anyways, have a great time writing! ))

oh, I live in europe too (Finland as you can see), it takes about 2 weeks after I sent a letter to get a response. so I suppose it takes almost one week for my letter to go and a couple of days pass before he writes back, and then takes almost a week to get to me. sometimes it's a few days more than 2 weeks..guess it depends how fast they deliver it inside prison..
I always try to answer as quickly as possible, if I get a letter today, will send a letter tomorrow..sometimes due to being busy it can take more....and then I'm mad at myself cuz I have to wait longer to get the next letter ;D
