| welcome to wap family mimi, Great to have you with us. To answer your Question, I believe that the only registered letter they can receive, not even sure they do this, but maybe from an attorney, but NOT from pen pals. If i am wrong, someone will correct me.

| This is another call that institution's mail room question . Offenders in TDCJ can send certified and registered mail so i would guess thy can receive them . In TDCJ they can receive registered or certified mail that is legal mail . It is probably very rare thy get registered or certified mail from any one else . Though it probably does happen . I would think that other states are similar .

| Hi mimi I don't really know but I did send registered post to eldorado prison in kansas and I was told he did recieve it but I rang and spoke to the prison administration of my dilemma and that I had to get a letter to him urgently and they allowed it under the circumstances. You have to check with the prison if your ever unsure. I find it a pain as I live in Australia so I have to talk to them all hours of the night but its better ringing or you could risk all sorts of issues arising. I also find it a good idea to get them to send you a prison fact sheet that says what you can send and what you cant. I'm a professional model and the prisoners love signed autographed photos of me to put on their walls but I always have to get them to check and see if their allowed and they always tell you if they can or can't. Hope it helps, love heaps |

| I send him registered letter and he got it without problem: it was treated as an odinary mail.It took same time to get to his place (KS, EL Dorado), but cost me almost double! So I stick to the regular letters now. |
