 my own record... Hi, I have a couple pen pals and a few have been asking about my involvement in environmental activism, as i indicated that was something i am involved in. i am currently facing trial next month for breaking and entering and mischief over 5000 dollars, arising from my activism (long story short: protesting the oil sands and camped out on smoke stacks in an oil refinery for 24 hours to shut down operations). there is a chance that i, myself, could be incarcerated as a result. i want to tell my pen pals that this could happen and inform them of what has happened, but i was just wondering if that would get my mail flagged or something...? what do you think? and if i am found guilty but not incarcerated, but have that on my record, will i not be allowed to visit my pps?      |

| Re: my own record... I guess if you will tell your pps about what you have done,that will go through as long you don't tell them all the details. As for visiting them yep this form is asking for your own records,not sure if they would put you on their visitor list. |

| Re: my own record... Not any significant advice; but I'd atleast give them a heads up that you may not be able to continue writing after your stuff goes to court. I had to tell my two penpals that I may not be the one writing soon. |

| Re: my own record... note: I am not a lawyer. Do not mention anything in your mails sent to prison that could be used against you in court.. i.e. admitting guilt.. etc regarding visiting, no idea. PTO has a lot of specific discussions on being able to visit with a record. |
