I have a suggestion but first let me say most guys/ladies are just happy with letters, but sending money is about best as the prison has commisary, and sometimes store. This way the person can get what they need or want.

Another issue to keep in mind when dealing with prisons is that MANY of the facilities wont allow ANY item that the inmate can purchase on their own in store. The reasoning is quite obvious. They would prefer the money is spent inside. So it’s a good idea if you want to send a gift or item, to actually call the prison and find out what will and won’t be allowed. As Cherokee mentioned, because of this, a few bucks might be the preferred route.
