For Ipod, was just thinking like my 120gb player, NOT the phone or anything. I do not think that would be a good idea.
However, i hoook it up to my PC, it wants to share its stuff...not good, so i shut that part off. Great way to get a virus.

Forgot to mention...

For HDD's and stuff, you have to have the right plug/connections, etc for the device to work and you have to have the source disk, etc.
Case in point: I have a lot of my grad school stuff on 3.5' floppys and zip drive disks. Yes, i still have the data, etc, and a drive, btu what if my drive is busted at some point???
BTW, i moved it all to flash and DVD r disk.

The materials they are made of could easily be made into a weapon.

I don't see this happening with ipods or usb sticks.

Depends on the USB stick. Thinkgeek has some that are 8-16gb, and are wafer thing literally.

What state is your pp in that they can receive books other than non hardcover? I wasn't aware that any state would allow this technology?

I was thinking it would be an alternative for books for inmates that could be updated, etc via the net or that would hold a lot of books for a person.
