Do I just order through Amazon and send it, or do I need permission to send it?

I rang the mailroom. After mucho confusion I have found out, it''s ok to just send the book via Amazon.
I have a quite thick Dublin accent, and say BUKES instead of BUCKS (Books) so there was a little misunderstanding on his part and some giggling on my part!

You just have to give up their addresses for shipping address and your address as billing address, thats it. don't forget to mention their ID nr and don't forget to ask how many they may have as the amount is limited for some prison. I have sent some throung Amazon.com and it went well.

I was wondering about this, too. How do you make sure it gets to the prisoner? For example, how do you add their DOC number on the package? Would you just add it as part of the last name?

You put the number right after their names example "Scarletsend # 123456" as the name

most of the times it's on the prisons website what is possible to send trough amazon.com just as scarletsend told you ,just send the packet as you usely do when writing a letter.

Thanks Scarletsend and Whiterose, I was reallly worried because someone told me that since I put his address down it wouldn't get to him. Apparently I was to send it to some other address, so that's a weight of my mind because I really didn't want to have to ring again!
