HAMILTON, Ohio -- A judge sentenced a teenager to 44 years in prison Friday for the kidnapping and torturing of a disabled high school student.


Cheyenne Blanton, 17, pleaded guilty July 30 to to aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, complicity to aggravated robbery, felonious assault, kidnapping and vandalism in connection with the Feb. 23 attack.

i agree with the dad this wasn't a joke or mistake but a real cruel thing to do .

3-4 years,... that's the max those girls would've faced here in Germany....... most likely if it was their first crime it had been 2 years on probation. Means they had most likely never seen any jail from inside.......

So, we can discuss what's wrong overhere.....

I`m really a gentle person concerning other people but in this case I think
a long prison sentence is a must. Maybe it should be psychatry though. I
can`t believe they are being normal, I mean everything has reasons. This
cruelty must come from somewhere. Of course I`m disgusted by the crime
and I understand that the victims can`t forgive. I have psychoanalists in
the family and so I`m quite used to look deeply at things. I think it doesn`t
help much if we pass judgement after so little information...If we are disgusted it is good because that shows our disgust towards brutality...

44 years is much to long they need a punnisment but that long??

I think for a first time offender, if they indeed are, that it is too long. I think 10 years, on segregation would suffice.

Wow, Burglary, Robbery, Assault, Kidnapping, Vandalisim, and the brutality of the assault. Also against a disabled person makes it a higher charge too.

No comment from me on the yrs they got for a sentencing.

peanut is right, all those charges added up will make a lengthy sentence.

then you have to also consider it was done to a disable person, that has no way of defending themselves.

All of te charges naturally add up to those amount of years...even when given the minimum sentence for what they did...even if I feel it is too lengthy for a first time offender. It is what it is, they could have avoided it all together by simply not breaking the law

I think their time should be served in solitary.... the closest thing to 'torture' they can receive.

I believe that the 44 years is too much time, especially for a first time offender, age 17. But then again what was that teenager thinking when she was torturing a disabled person who can not defend themselves. Maybe because the offender cannot defend herself from an able body person?! But perhaps 10 - 15 years would have been enough with perhaps a certain amount of letters per month. And maybe an additional 10 -15 years of parole / probation. I'd write to the judge and ask if she could do this for this offender. But I don't have the address. Woud anybody know the address??
