I think it is a long sentence as well, however look at the sentences isn the states compared to Canada, you murder someone in the states you get life, 30 yrs.
You murder someone in Canada, you get like under 4 yrs, and out in like 2.
The system is screwed, I don"t think crazy long sentences really help,

Some sentences are too long here, yet murder and someone goes free in 2 years, that to me is way to short a sentence for murder in my book.

I agree, 44 years is WAY too much time, especially for a 17 year old, YES i do think age should play a factor in determining the length of a sentence. No wonder the DOC system is over crowded and helping to send the states into bankruptcy. Especially when many think these kind of time frames are reasonable and warranted.

Due to his age it is too long a sentence, it was also a multi' crimes and serious' crime/crimes he commited.
Burglary, kidnapping, robbery, assault, vandalism, the brutality of the assault makes a difference too, and also being done to a disabled' person makes that again brings to a higher offense itself. .

Our prisons are not overcrowded and going bankrupt due to serious crimes, it is the length of sentence given for less serious and non violent crimes, that are a main cause of overcrowding and a strain on the financial..

I would also like the address... It is far too much for someone who's brain that isn't even fully developed. IMO
