| 2 January 2008 Richey due to fly back to Capital next week FORMER Death Row Scot Kenny Richey is expected to return to Edinburgh next week, his lawyer said. He will enter a plea deal allowing him to walk free at a hearing on Monday, and will be on a plane back to the UK the following day. Lawyer Ken Parsigian said "The hearing will be on January 7, at 1pm. The only reason that will not take place is if he winds up in hospital again. "He will leave to fly back to Scotland on January 8." His conviction for killing a two-year-old girl in a 1987 arson attack was overturned last August. However, just hours before he was due to be freed last month he was taken to hospital following a heart scare. Anti-death penalty campaigner Karen Torley, who was once engaged to Richey, said last night he was "determined that he is getting on the plane this time". She said: "I'll just be glad when it's all over for him." http://news. scotsman. com/world/ Richey-due- to-fly-back. 3633006.jp
