| CNN) -- A man who fled the United States for his native England after his wife and daughter were killed was found guilty of their murders Wednesday. Entwistle listens as verdict is read in Massachusetts court Wednesday. Neil Entwistle, 29, repeatedly closed his eyes and shook his head as the foreman read the verdict: guilty of two first-degree murder charges, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition. The jury in Woburn, Massachusetts, deliberated for less than 12 hours before reaching the verdict. Entwistle faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole when he is sentenced at 10 a.m. Thursday. During the trial, prosecutors said Entwistle was in debt and dissatisfied with his sex life when he fatally shot Rachel Entwistle and 9-month old Lillian as the two snuggled in bed. | I followed this trial closely. I’m in NH and it took place in Mass so it was big new all over New England of course. I have to say I felt it was a very just verdict. Yeah yeah, the defense made a big deal about a little GSR on Rachel’s hands...come on; she probably put her hands up in a protective motion to cover the baby. Not buying it and the jury wasn't about to either. 1st degree conviction.

| Asha, you followed this closely. A serious crime, but did he take the stand? Also did his defense attorney defend him well?? Not sure about this one but, then I only heard a little on this on TV yesterday.

| Yeah I watched it nearly daily on "In Session". Of course I could not watch every second of it as it’s on all day but as much as I was able. No, he did not take the stand but there was no reason to put him up there because the jury had nearly two hours of him speaking with an investigator and those phone calls were recorded. Neil was made aware of this also. To put him on the stand would have been quite risky as you would have then opened him up to the state's line of questioning. Sometimes it needs to be done, like in the case of self defense as an example. The jury really WANTS to hear what happened in the defendants own words. In a case like this where you have so much out of the mouth of Mr. Entwistle already, its not worth the risk on cross. I feel his defense team served him well, I just did not believe their version of things.
