LIsa,,

you said, "As for underage users stumbling upon these ads, it is the responsibility of parents to be supervising their children, and monitoring their on-line activities"

I could have not said it better.

i write to many inmates, and have been one myself for many years, although prisoners are people to, we still have to protect our kids, there are plenty of other opputuntiys inmates have to the real world-aka writeaprisoner so not good idea to let inmates get on public sights where the majority of the people are kids.

Welcome again Chris to WAP

Not to debate, I respect your opinion, one thing that did cross my mind though reading your post reply, think how many are released ea day to society, and how many who never inside, are doing now to our kids, even teachers..now thats easy access.

Parents be it the internet or the world have to take responsible parenting in this day and age anywhere their child may be, and be informed and educated to this world .
Just my thoughts esp with all going on in this world today.

This is an older thread but I found it kind of interesting in light of what has recently taken place with that case that Dragonfly posted. There a grown woman (in the free world) used MySpace to befriend a young teen girl under the guise of "Josh" and pretended to be a teenage boy. She did this as a personal assault and in retaliation for a perceived wrong that this girl had enacted against her own teen daughter. The details of the case are on Dragon's thread....

It just seems odd to me that all this fuss was being made over DR Inmates having friends and family create MySpace accounts for them where they can have a voice and be seen. These men and women do not portray themselves as anyone other than themselves. They dont attack teenage girls or perpetrate malicious pranks as this woman did.

It makes you wonder, who is the real "criminal" here? What is going on exactly?

Here's the deal: I did plenty of small bits in prison and each and every time I was appalled at how well off the child molesters, woman killers & sociopath criminals had it. I'd see them watching TV's in their cells, making hook-ups every night for dinner, talking endlessly on the phone, etc., etc. while their victims or families of the person/s the murdered suffered with a grief I wouldn't want to imagine. Those inmates should be given only the bare essentials to survive in a 6' x 9' cell 24/7.

Hi firedbytrump, and Welcome back.

I still feel the same on this topic, I believe a family or friend has the right to freedom of speech on Myspace for them(as long as nothing stated( is illegal), as well as have an ad for pps. That is only positives in a negative.

Have to leave some humanity, or it would drive them to more violence while inside, and hopefully better for the ones who will be released back to society, that are not facing the DP, a pp friend..
