Really , does anyone know how to conjure up those who have MySpace accts ? I have never run into anyone and I have my own MySpace acct.
I have no problem with inmates being on MySpace. They have pp ads so why not ? They should be allowed the freedom of speech that the rest of us take for granted.

Summer,,, they did not give that infor on the news,,, they also never said any inmate on it caused or said anything off or threatening nor playing on kids,,, the outrage was that they were on DR and it scared them and made many angry they could have an ad on there,,,,do not remember who the official was who stated too,,,, that the inmates do not have access to the internet,,, that someone puts it on there for them,,,he also stated,,, that back in 2005" If I remember correctly,,,it had gone to the Supreme Court,,, that inmates rights are protected to have ads and solicite mail,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, so if saying or doing nothing illegal they can have someone put an ad on myspace or here or wherever,,,,

I know it must be a shock to the ones who really know nothing about this whole topic,,,and the ones complaining were told how the ads get on myspace and the laws to freedom of the above.

They did not give on national TV which ad and how to find ,,, for good reasons I believe,,,, so I do not have that infor ,,, ,maybe someone else has run across some ,,,,

If you read reply to OJ I gave,,,, it may seem I am working both sides of the coin on the free speech issue,,,, I do believe and inmate or any human has the right to free speech,,, but ,,, on the OJ right to free speech or the book,,,, that type of free speech is a whole other ball game,,,and the subject line............................................no w that is sick.........................in my opinion..............

i have my pal posted on my page in my space and i don't see anything wrong with it just felt it would be a place where he could get a few letters from people keeps him in touch with the outside world

I'm new to the forum. I didn't realize there was one. I placed my brother, Frank Grazulis's ad back in August. It's funny to come across this thread as my sister and I were talking about setting up a MySpace for my brother. He hasn't received any letters yet and we think it's because of the prison. We tested this out by having a friend pretend she was a penpal and send a letter. He never received it. We've just set up a P.O. Box and my mom will forward the letters to him in her envelope. I have to have him change his address with WAP since they will only accept the change from him. But I guess I could list it here too. He's not Death Row, but life. He's been in since 16 y.o. and now 32 y.o.

My very good friend was on the news about Myspace.. as well as loads of the inmates pages....

Tell you what i hate the most about it... FOX news that ran the original story.. They OWN myspace... they can check emails, ip's etc... they are not stupid they KNOW that the inmates do not run the pages themselves yet STILL ran that story...

If in any way these pages that were ran glorified any crimes that may have been committed i would 100% understand but i run many pages.. one for a DR guy and in NO way do any of the one's i have seen do this in anyway!!
Just an excuse for a story if you ask me!!!

i run 2 inmate pages and i frankly could care less about what others think. i do it for them. i believe though people have made mistakes they are still human and the d/p is bs. should be abolished and doesn't prove anything. i think if these prisoners whom have these pages have them through family, friends and pen friends. people make these pages to get their cause out and believe it or not not all of those on d/r are guilty and those whom are they are still human and if someone wants to get their cause out there that's their right...!

Why should DP, DR or ANY prisoner be allowed time on a computer???Why make their life so sweet? The worse the conditions, the better an inmate will behave once returning to the real world.
No, I am not some old curmudgen speaking out of his behind. From 1986 - 1996 I was doing life on the installment plan in state prisons; two years in, three months out, 3 years in, two weeks out, 13 months in...you get the picture. In most of the bits I was in med. to min. security and had a great old time. Watching TV, playing Scrabble & softball year round, etc, etc. Outside of no female companionship, life was not so bad. Prison was not some scary place to stay away from so I had no fear when I got out & started the cycle all over again. I was a 'junkie for life', and proud of it.
That was until the last bit when I was put in maximum after being caught in my cell with a spike hanging in my arm. 16 months of hell; locked down 23 hours a day & no TV or books other than a Bible was enough to straighten my dumbass out. 10 years on the streets and I wouldn't do a THING to jeopardize my freedom.

Fired,,, congrats being out ten yrs and keeping clean,,,,, but, I still believe it is not making life sweet to not allow any inmate the freedom of speech,,,that is a given human right,,,,,,

Yes,, I agree a mim prison or med is easy compared to max or super max,,,, it took you going thru the fire to and bible and time to pay in hell to shape up,,,, but,,, many too,,, are made more criminal minded by the abuse instead of rehabilitation,,, just being words,,,,, inside their are some who need to be inside and never see the light of day,,, but,,,, anyone who has been in can walk thru and see which ones are worth saving,,,, not creating a bigger monster ,,,,,, just my opinion,,,, and my husbands too,,, who spent many yrs inside,,, in both med and max ...... if they had tv,,, music,, or the right to speech taken it could create making them mad,,,,, insanity would run rampit for sure,,,,,,it is not meant to drive people over the edge more,,, it is meant to punish yet,,,, save too,,if possible, so too society is safer on their release and not reenter...... .
