Hi..In most states there is a lawyer referall service. Look in your phone book. They can tailor your particular needs to specific attorneys. Also if your fiance is qualified to have a public defender that is an option. Contrary to popular belief there are some PD's who really care and do a good job. Good luck to you both.

Default Need Help

Hello,

I am an ex-con, and I need some advice. I was in Federal Prison for about two years from December 2004 to June 2006 and considering that I am deaf, they did not provide any reasonable interpreter so I was not able to understand or participate fully in any of the program. Do you know a way to get relief from that since I am already out of prison and at home?

America

Hi and welcome to WAP.
I am not sure but I would dare say that if you needed an interpreter you should have been given one.

This may have violated your civil rights and I suggest that you contact the ACLU. You can contact them and explain the situation and they are pretty good about fighting for peoples rights both inside and outside the walls.

Good Luck to you. Foxy

Contact the Appellate Defenders in San Diego... They can help. His trial attorney should have filed notice of an appeal. If he cannot afford one, the Appellate Defenders will be appointed

He has been locked uo since 1996 and is up for parole in 206. is there anyone that can help him with filinf all of this?

Hi my fiance has been in a federal prison for 5 years now, he has filied his own appeals. I have gotten him an application for Clemency from the Pardon Attorney, but it says not to fill out if he has some appeals in the courts. Is there anything else we can do to try to get a reduction of sentence. This was his first offense, and he has another 1 1/2 to 2 years of sentence to serve. Is there anyone that can help us??
