| Im not pro death penalty. I have issues with its constitutionality but thats not really the point. Im just wondering what is being put in place INSTEAD of lethal injection. I gather that anti DP folks dont want it to be used at all or any other method either.

| I was not speaking of the lethal injection issue. I was speaking of specific cases where named inmates were involved in the cases being heard by the USSC such as Roper Vs Simmons and Texas Vs Medellin. In each case there were named inmates, as in the the Juveniles for Roper Vs Simmons and the Foreign Nationals for Texas Vs Medellin. Due to inmates being named in those cases and the fact that the USSC was ruling on those cases, the state did hold back on executions. I know this for a fact b/c Junior and 2 other Juveniles I know of had cases and they received letter from the State of Texas indicating their dates , at that time, were indefinitely suspended pending the ruling on the Simmons case. I am not sure if the inmates who are named in the Medellin case received the same documentation, but being that they are actually named in the case, and it is being considered, the state can not execute until the ruling come down. As far as the lethal injection issue, some states could voluntarily withhold executions pending the decision, but again, that would be on a voluntary basis.
