Thought I'd let all you readers know what I finally found out in case anyone else is asked this question. I spoke to a bankruptcy attorney in Oregon and he said an inmate can file but it would be costly because they would have to send someone out to swear them in and everything would have to be done over the phone, he stated it would make no sense for them to do it like that, they'd be better off waiting until they got out!

My Mood: | | From what I understand is that inmates can file bankrupcy but the bankrupcy will not cover restitution. I could be wrong on this , but I think that is correct information.
My cousin needed to file when he went to prison and he was allowed to, but it did not apply for his restitution.
This was in TX

| | VOD (Validation Of Debt) I have a VOD that, I have gotten rid of mortage's, loan's, and credit cards with. If you'd like it send me a private message and i'll send it. The reason for that is it is to big to place on the forum. The forum can only take 19.9 MB while the VOD is 77.9 MB's (mega bits).
Not trying to impress. Just the truth.

Most prisons will not transport an inmate without a court order, and to the best of my knowledge, no BK court will issue an order to produce. Thus, whil all inmates can file, not all inmates can secure a BK discharge. |
