| if someone was going to be Acquitted "not sure i spelled that right?" would they do it at the post conviction hearing? or would they have to make a trial date and acquit then? also i think its to the courts we owe the money?, but they take out a % everytime we send money, anyway my question is would it all have to be paid off before release?? thank you |

| I am not sure why you have had no replies in the past week? I see you have an answer for the first part of your question else where so i will only just answer the latter. If you owe monies (restitution) you WILL be released, but need to have the debt paid in full BEFORE you are released from parole as far as i understand, and parole comes with many restrictions. This is one way the system still has you in their grasp. Debt is then compounded in many cases while time is served and what many inmates and families find unjust. Even if they have no means to pay it off. You may go in with a debt of $16,000 and many years later come out owing $30,000 plus. BUT if you are lucky enough to have a substantial amount on your books say from a deceased estate, you receive NO interest from those monies as far as i understand it to be. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/06/opinion/06sat1.html

| Thank you smiley, we have already started to pay it off, with the exchange rate the way it is now makes sence, then i will just pay the remainder if any when they let him go, the other info i got i think was wrong because i did find 2 guys that had been "acquitted" after spending long time in prison, so i dont know what to think to be honest, to be honest tho i dont care what word they use overturned, acquitted what ever long as we get the result we want, which at the moment its looking very good, as for no replys i didnt really expect any here, i just put the question out there to see different opinions, |

| I am glad to hear all is going well. I agree with the exchange rate, knock it on the head while you can, and if you are able pay restitution in full upon release so you are not tied to the system any longer than need be. Best of wishes to you and yours.
