I am not sure whether I saw the same program or not.

I am in Canada and we often get UK stories here on TV.

The one I saw was about an old prison that was rebuilt...the architects and engineers had no idea how to design a prison and made a complete mess of it. The prison is now worse than the old section which was built a hundred years ago or so!

The environment created by the prison itself is cruel and unusual punishment.

I did see that two one for N.C. and the other for New Mexico, they are not good. Fully 1/2 have no business in there.

Yeah Casa, I saw the programme. It was so sad to see so many of the women self-harming so badly. I could never be a prison officer!

Right on Pen!!

MOST don't belong here, and a big percentage of all prison population should not be in there!!

Just my thoughts peeps

there is guard union, and the system feeds on itself , get them out of there and most can get a job, put them on a GPS unit, but get them out of the pit they are in, Nam was bad but being in prison has to be worse. But there is no need for 2.5 million more or less to be in prison, YES there are some that need to be in there, and I have no problem with that, them the rest, Ok I have said all that.

thank you all for your replies. yes it is a sad fact the half of the women should have not been in jail in the first place. a lot of them had mental health problems which jails could not deal with.plus they were away from there kids. and families. but i also guess that is the sad reality of being in prison, i just think for the none violent! crimes women should not be locked up full stop...
