I'm new here, and I very much enjoy reading all the posts. In a lot of them, there are mentions of "special" pp's. I was just curious as to how many of you guys have a "special" pp., and what exactly makes them "special" to you? i.e. Are you in love? Have you been writing them the longest? Have you met with them? What sets your "special" pal apart from any other pp's you may (or may not) have? Would love to hear everyone's stories and opinions. I'm a sucka 4 sweet stuff!

Well, I am not sure that this rates as 'sweet stuff', but my Pal is special to me because we have developed a bond and freindship that goes beyond just swapping letters.

Neither one of us planned it that way, it just happened. We started writing just like everyone else here, and it developed into friendship that is strong and important in each of our lives.

Just the way it works sometimes I guess.

I have a special pp that was my first and he is involved with my kids and talks to my husband on the phone. We connected on a very emotional level early on in the communication so he is special. Another pp i call special is because he grew up in the same place i frequent and we know many of the same people even though we have never seen one another. Life long family friends of my family are relatives of his family friends, things like that.

I have a special pen pal and I love him. This man was the first person I wrote also. He means so much to me. He's more than special he has become a part of me.

My 'special' pal, Donni, is 'special' to me because she is the one who I can talk to about anything and everything, There is nothing that she doesn't tell me about her life and how she is feeling, and nothing that I wouldnt tell her. She knows all about me and i, her. We have been writing for a fair amount of time, but nowhere near as long as some of the people here have been writing to their pals. She is special to me for so many reasons, but mainly because she admits to making a mistake in her life and then WANTING to change, for the better, and while she has been in prison, she has really made an effort to 'change her ways' for when she gets back out into 'The real world..'

She is special to me because not only are we "Pen pals" but over time, we have learned to trust one another and we have become really great FRIENDS.

There are several key words in the preceeding posts: Bond, Friend, and maybe even Love. I feel all of those things with my PP. We have been writing for over 2 years and we may never know EVERYTHING about each other, but it will be fun trying. :-) I tell her that she is "My baby". Her happiness, comfort, safety, and you name it, are all important to me. Yep! She's "special". :-)

My pp was special because we got on so well and enjoyed each other's thoughts and views on life. Well, he's been free for 5 months know and is that special that he is now my Honey!!!

My special pp, is actually not a pp any longer. I had 2 pp's in the begining, but once I fell in love with my fiance, (who is an inmate), he asked that I not write to any others any longer. I deffinitely didn't begin correspondence thinking that I would fall in love, however that is exactly what happened. And as I mentioned on a post back in January, We will be married March 26. I can't wait. Kamy
