| I was curious to know what your thoughts are...... Do you think it can be classed as abuse or any form of misconduct, if you are in a profession teaching teenage children and years later meet up with YOUR student, who has just turned 18 and start a relationship? Morally do you think anything wrong?

| I agree Asha...but the age of sexual consent in all of Canada is 14 years...although there is a Bill coming to Parliament soon that will raise the age to 16 I think. In Canada all Criminal Code laws are federal and are enforced by the provinces. The provinces run the prisons for convicted people sentenced to serve 2 years less one day....the federal prisons...called penitentiaries are run by the federal government and are for those sentenced to 2 years and greater. Hope that clears the mystery. Tom |

| Yes it does thank you. Wow 14 years for all of Canada?? That seems rather young. 16 still seems too young to me. I guess it depends on the child and some 16 year olds are very mature. I dont know though. Im old fashioned and think 18 is still too young lol. I guess Im prudish. I just think kids should actually get a chance to be children before rushing into sex and marriage. Its not like we are in the frontier days anymore when people were dead by 40.
