I am not a pp with anyone yet so cannot speak with any experience only feelings.

If the guy who called you had still been inside when your pp is due for release, I would have thought he was trying to get you to write to him once your pp is out. But this is not the case. Maybe this guy has seen you at the prison (I don't know how it works over there) and likes you. But I am uneasy with the fact, he has called you now he is out and by rights he should be getting on with life. If he were still inside, boredom could have been the factor but this isn't the case.

I do think you ought to be careful around this guy, he sounds as if he is out to hurt even if emotionally - that is bad enough. I guess you have been friends with this guy for six years so have some degree of a relationship and trust and if he is due out soon, you will (I assume) hope to build a relationship this way. It is then you will get to know him and be able to judge the situation. The horrible part is the seed of doubt has been planted and this is going to stay with you, even if you decide not to act on it.

You could mention it to your pp without conveying your worries, just in general so that he is aware of danger. But I would not speak to the caller again and just be alert.

Anyway as I said, just my thoughts.

I agree with Whitrose it does sound like jealousy, trying to get back at someone. I do know of peoplw who are just gay for prison to have protective custody, yet in free world are hetro or straight. I would go with your feelings after 6 years writign and two visits! I write gay pp's and know the otherside of the playing field.

first thing that came to my mind, why would your pal give a number to someone IF he was indeed liking men, wouldn't he be taking a chance on this person telling you this?

If I had a secret that someone knew about, I durn sure wouldn't be giving my number to that person.
