Default Visiting an inmate?

Hey there all, I have a friend who is locked up in county jail waiting to be sent to prison and I had a question about visiting. I want to get on his visiting list but I have a fine that I owe to Illinois (he is locked up in Iowa) and I'm not sure what all they do when you want to be put on someones visiting list.

Hey! i'm not sure how deep the county jails search but i do know that at the county jail my ex was always in you could not visit him if you had any outstanding fines. like always its best if you call them up and ask them most of the time they are very helpful

I agree with sweetie, call the jail. There are different policies from state to state and prison to prison. I have 4 pp's in 3 different states and they all have different times you can add someone to a visiting list.

While that is true.... we welcome these questions as you never know who may be able to assist in obtaining a speedy answer.

Call the county courthouse where you have the fine and do a warrent check. If the fine was sufficent enough for law enforcement to take notice they will swear a warrent out on you.If you dont have a warrent all they can make you do is pay the fine.I would def make sure that you dont have a warrent before you go filling out your visitor paperwork with your adress on it.Then they can come blind side you with a warrent. You can call your local sheriff's office or police station or look in the blue pages of your phone book phone the warrent check phone number.9 times out of 10 it is a 24hr number.
