I have been writing a woman in a Georgia prison for a year. I visited her once in April. The following week I was told by the staff that I was on "inactive status." The letter from her this week, and we write weekly, said that the visits were discontinued because the state found out that we met on the internet through writeaprisoner. Has anyone in Georgia who has met anyone, male or female, been denied visitation for this reason? Or am I a complete and total fool? DennyfromGa4@webtv.net

When I asked if you lied on your application I wasn't encouraging you to do so. I know many people here have lied on theirs so I was curious as to whether you did or not. If they found out the lie I wouldn't blame them for cutting off the visitation. If you told the truth however... It makes me wonder...

It's very possible that Georgia has adopted the same policies as Florida did recently, concerning correspondence and visitation. Georgia and Florida are both in the 11th Federal Court Circuit. I have no current information about this, but will keep my eyes and ears open.
