i have been waiting to get word about visiting my friend here in fla., i filled out paperwork and it has been 6-7 weeks, still no word,does anyone know if this is the normal amount of time it takes, i know they have my paperwork,i talked to the co and he said we should have heard last week, has anyone else had to wait this long here in fla?

Hi Jazzy, I don't know anything about visiting inmates (except that you can't wait in the car! I went with a friend once and was waiting in the car and a cop came up and told me I had to wait inside, well I look like I am 6 months pregnant and I tried to use the excuse that I was uncomfortable, well he apologized, but still made me go inside), well to get back to your question isn't FL the one that has a lot of problems? I guess they really want the inmates to punish for their crimes. Good Luck, Darlene

yes fla. seems to be the place lately with all the issues, i cant believe it is taking this long, i am really wondering whats going on and if anyone else has had this long of a wait

Hi, I have a pen pal here in Florida...I filled out a visitation form and, mailed it in on the 13th of September and, he received the approval on the 24th of September...I even was truthful and, said that we were "Pen Pals". We were tickled that I was approved so quickly and, am planning a visit to see him the weekend of the 18th of October...*smiles* although one of his brothers' girlfriends it took four almost five weeks to get her approval from them...so, just hang in there...I'm sure your approval is on it's way as well...*smiles*

jazzy, Hamilton is one of those counties listed on the homepage of wap...and, the county in which my visitation form was sent too isn't one of those...maybe that has something to do with it...did you put that you were pen pal..if so, maybe you should have put friend>?...who knows....i'm sure that your approval is just around the corner ...good luck to you and, keep us posted on how it's going for you...

I applied for visitation rights about 4-5 weeks ago and still waiting, No word yet. I applied to Raiford. My penpal is sending in some sort of notice to see what the status is. It's Florida. You never know from one day to the next and if they can make things difficult, they will.
