My son is still slow going. He hates his casts and always tries to take off the patch on his eye and cries every time he makes a move, he's only 2 and bruised up his ribs really bad. His dad (my ex) on the other hand isn't doing so well. He's still in ICU and unconcious. Gianni keeps asking for his dad, but the hospital won't let me take him in there to see him. I got another call from matt today (his counselor let him call me from his office!) and he sounded so sad, he wants so badly to be here. I feel bad though because he took some money off of his inmate account and sent it to me for medication and any time i miss from work. (which might i add, my boss has a problem w/ me taking time off, and i was about to lose it today but kept my cool). I love matt so bad, and at first I was hesitant to take gianni to see matt, not because of matt, but because of the setting, but once gianni feels better I'm going to surprise matt w/ a visit from both of us, but first i need to get a visiting application. I hope everything works out and my baby gets better soon. thanks for your concern

Thanks feline! Matts mom has been calling me daily for updates. Without matt and his mom in my life i don't know what i would do. I'm not really close with my parents since i had my baby so i need all the supportive thoughts and encouragement to get through this as i can.

THanks everyone for the thoughts, I think they are truly working! I woke up this morning and Gianni was on the floor in his room playing with his blocks, i asked him if he hurt on his tummy and he shook his head no and then he tried to take off his casts but i told him he needed to keep them on, but then i picked him up and he didn't cry, because before i would touch his chest and since his ribs were bruised he'd cry in pain, but not this morning!!! A huge amount of stress has been lifted! I got a letter from matt yesterday and it says " It is killing me that i can't be there for the two of you. I want so badly to be able to protect him and comfort you. I love you baby and although we're not married yet i consider us a family and you my wife. I need you baby, stay home and take care of our little man, I'll be here for you no matter how long it takes baby." (i was supposed to go visit him today, but i pushed it back 2-3 weeks) I wish i were visiting him right now.

Matts....You and your son have been in my prayers, as well as his father. I am happy to hear things are looking better for him. I know as a mother, you just want to love all his aches and pains away. Be strong, and know that you're doing a great job!

As for Matt, you do have a lot of good support there! He's doing everything he can to ensure you know he's there for you.That's a good thing, and I know you know how lucky you are to have someone so special! : ) It's got to be hard going through this for both of you. But you just have to remind one another that neither of you are alone. For you each have the other in your hearts every moment of the day and you comfort one another.
