Default Texas is tough on phone calls
My last pen pal is getting released in less then 90 days now. Her daughter has fallen on hard times so I offered to get her an outfit to where home. This would be sent to her while still inside. To make things easier I sent her my number and told her to call. Was I surprised to read the following in her letter. Then I confirmed it on the Texas Department of Criminal Justice website.

Are offenders allowed to make telephone calls?

Offenders who demonstrate good behavior can earn one 5-minute collect phone call every 90 days. Calls are monitored and may be made only to approved individuals.

Kruse:

There is no Constitutional requirement to provide telephone services or access to inmates. The use of a telephone is a privilege, not a right.

Kruise, my former friend was in Texas and the same applied to him, kinda sucks really dont it when you hear others have access every day.

IT IS SO STUPID....TEXAS IS THE WORST STATE TO BE LOCKED UP IN..
WHAT THE HELL IS A 5 MIN CALL EVERY 90 DAYS THAT IS BULLCRAP..
