For those who write to someone in Texas, how long is it from the time you mail your letter to the time you get a response from it. Just so I'll have an idea of when I should start looking out for a letter.

It depends on the unit. It usually take my pals 4 days to get my mail and 2 to 3 for me to get theirs. I am in the MID SOUTH area (TN/MS/AR area).

It takes one day for a letter to get from the prison to the post office, and another 4 days to get from Texas to Michigan. I am assuming that it's the same way, flying south, I guess that my PP has never said.

my friend is in the coffield unit and i'm in michigan. it takes about a week and a half for me to get a letter back from him.

Took me 3 weeks to get a reply from Australia

Just now wrote my 1st letter to someone in Texas prison. Read what they have on their website but it leaves a lot out. What can you send - just plain letters and/or cards? No stickers or decorations, etc.

Pretty much all you can send by direct mail are cards and letters and print outs fron the computer. No stickers, no stamps. You can send photos. Make sure you put their tdcj number on all photos and small pieces of paper sent in.

Round trip to my Texas pp is about a week and a half. I did ask when they recieve it in my latest letter.Just to see how long it took to get there and back.
