Default Should i just wait?

Hello Everyone,
I have written to a prisoner for the first time at Arrendale Prison in Georgia. I sent an envelope with several postcards, a card and a 4 page letter. I sent the envelope 5 weeks ago express air post which guarantees its delivery within 5 working days to the United States from Australia but haven’t heard anything. Did I over do it? If I sent too much would they maybe have thrown my letter out before it was delivered to her? Should I write another letter to the same girl? I am a little confused why I haven’t heard back and I don’t want to write to any one else in case she has written back and it’s taking a long time to get here. Can someone please help me?

Gidday Beer maker ~ like the nic! LOL

5 weeks is a long time to wait, especially if you sent it express. Did you check out the mail rules before you sent all that?

Normal mail from Aust to US is about 4 - 6 days and I find about 6 back ~ ofcourse differs a little state by state but 5 weeks is heaps of time.

I'm female & write men but I have heard that some women do receive alot of mail and can therefore be a bit picky about responding ~ the cost may be a factor too.

Or things like seg, lock downs, mail room probs could come into it. If I were you I would drop a short note asking if she received ur first letter and se if you hear anything.

If not, try again with someone else ~ sometimes it takes a few goes but when you succeed it can be alot of fun and you can learn alot

Cheers

I would write a second letter or card asking if they got your letter. If you don't get an answer to that, then I would assume she doesn't want to write. There could be a number of reasons you haven't heard from her.

Gees, I have my Kellbell from Australia and I am in the United States and yes, the mail does take awhile. But like CET said, follow up. Maybe it got lost, or maybe the person you are writing to has alot going on in the inside.

sincerely,

Fran

The first few letters I wrote took MONTHS before I heard any replies, and i thought that no one wanted to 'chat' to me - then.... when i least expected it... the letters came pouring in...

Give it a little more time, i would personally say, and you might get a pleasant surprise one morning.... when YOU least expect it!

It's a pain in the butt sitting and waiting, especially for that first ever letter, as you want it .. there and then.. but really... when it comes,.... it was well worth the wait, i found..
