| On both side of the fence in male and female prisons sadly. People scoff and laugh at the sexual abuse men face with female CO's, but none the less it is VERY real.

| Jon inside 13 years never saw any female staff sexually abuse an inmate, if they did all inmates he knew would have enjoyed it to be honest. Did see some have sex with a female guard for sex act itself and to gain favor too. Anything is possible it is prison. and all closely confined day after day.

| Be advised that ANYTHING you discuss over the PHONE is being recorded... and they DO LISTEN TO THOSE CALLS. It is best she talk to her atty about this matter b/c those calls ARE NOT RECORDED. Calls to anyone else are recorded and listened to and can be used against the offender.

| hi, just wanted to let you know that last night on French tv, they showed that documentary about a female prison in CA - Chowchilla (Valley state prison) and it was very interesting and shocking. I was with my family, who doesn't know yet about my pps so it was interesting to watch their reactions. Nonetheless, the cells are all alike - they're 8 (farewell dear intimacy) by cell, only have yellow bags hanging to put their clothes and one closet for all !. They also mix all 4 levels (they don't in the male facilities) and the cells have huge glasses - so that officers, walking down the aisles can see in the whole cell - they're being watched all the time. The reporters got to talk to a dozen of inmates, young females and old ones - lifers. My family was really shocked by the years these women were sentenced to ! One was so nice, she was sentenced to 10 years simply because the man she asked to drive her car on her way back from Mexico (she felt she was too drunk to drive) actually got her into an accident, one of her friends was killed. In France, the driver is the solely responsible for his actions - not the car's owner - another one got there (and lots of them) because of the 3 strike laws. They showed also a different building housing 88 pregnant inmates, saying that if you have no family outside, your child is being put to adoption. Then, they got authorized (one officer of course + the chairman?) to go to the SEG where violent inmates were sent. These women, once their door was open all started to yell, all of them (even in the general pop) talked about sexual abuse from their officers, saying that they had to "pay" to get anything (even toothpaste) - all of them mentionned it. Most of the officers were male. Then, they wanted to meet the 15 women on the death row but they weren't allowed to. So they flew to Texas and went to the female DP unit where they met Mrs Routier. She was sentenced in 1998 but always said she was innocent. She was itwed behing a glass. Anyway, I know about the system but my family didn't and they were all shocked by the living conditions and the "nonsense" length of prison they were sentenced to. I had to explain them that, despite the fact we can watch American movies and feel close to them, we have different cultures and that our judicial systems are very different. I don't know if anyone has a pp in Chowchilla, but at the end, they said that the hardest thing was the access to medication, they had a known "health issue" and that many inmates had died because they didn't get access to medication in time. Of course, I don't know anything about that prison, but it was very intense and I really felt empathy towards these women, they were all nice and one of them, (a lifer) who said she felt really sorry for the new ones, lifers under the age of 21. They also talked about homosexuality, saying that most of the women were not homosexuals, that they would be dating guys in the outside world but that loneliness had brought them to take a female companion. I also saw a young girl, pregnant - very nice and another one, who killed her abusive and violent husband - talking about her 6 kids. It was very sad but it brought another good point for me to write to pps ! |

Just like some Prisons read the mail. That's not just the way it goes in the States, other countries doing the same. |

| I know for a fact they do... and based on a conversation with my PP I received a call from the STG and extortion officer. They were looking for information and were not getting it from me or my pp. They even read the forums to be honest. It is part of their investigation tools. Which is why I keep it vague enough that they can not pin point anything I say and use against my family for pals. In addition... my uncle was moved to seg for something he DID NOT DO... and he was released back into GP because evidence found in recordings proved who did the 'hit' and it wasn't my uncle. Just recently with the stuff Pedro is going through... they have listened to his calls and provided him a transcript of the call. It was funny in a way b/c they thought he and I were talking in code and we were not... we were acting like two 5 year old kids on the phone.

| Yes, they read the mail and listen to phone conversations in France as well. Actually, any mail or phone conversation can be read or listened to at anytime ! That's how the anti terristorist secret services work ! They have special equipment that picks words such as "al quaeda, bomb...". So we're all being watched. To Skye : that is so funny that you guys were speaking like 5 yrs old kids and they thought you spoke in code ! My grandma used to tell me that during WWII, they listened to radio (it was forbidden but they used to tell the kids to make a lot of noise so that the German soldiers couldn't suspect anything) and most of the time, the sentences didn't make any sense at all like "Honey, I put the dish in the living room" or "I'm not going to the ballroom with Lucie tonight". |

| UPDATE: She called me tonight and sounds like she is at ease. Would not give me details on the phone but is having her GF call me with the details. I think her GF was about to go and kick the CO in the a#$. She has calmed down as well.
