Default sending a pp a book in florida

Hi, I'm wondering if you can send books to state correctional facilities in Florida. For some reason I thought they had to be straight from the publisher. Anybody who knows let me know! Thanks!

Books, periodicals or other publications must be sent directly to an inmate from a publisher, mail order distributor, or bookstore. DO NOT attempt to send a package of any type to inmate--it will be rejected.
Books, periodicals or other publications forwarded to inmates must be sent through the United States Postal Service. Materials delivered by package delivery services, such as United Parcel Service (UPS), Fed Ex, etc., will be refused.

Thank you so much. One more thing... When I order a book from the bookstore, I can request it be sent by US Mail? I know kind of a dumb question, but I would hate for the book to be turned away.

Hi all...you may want to note that many facilities don't allow hardback books to be sent in. Personally, I've always used Broders Bookstore, they take care of everything for you, the packaging for the books, the mailing through the United States Postal Service (USPS), and I don't think you can beat their prices...1st book ($5.50) and .50 cents for each additional one, up to 6...just my experience with them.

I also send my PP's books. I do it right from Barnes & Noble online. And I have not had any problems with that. And I send them lots of books!

Hi.
Its been a while since I did it, but I have sent books to Florida.
You could only send 4 at a time then. I don`t know if that has changed.

I bought them from a local bookshop; they were very busy, so I packaged them myself, filled out the customs docket myself, got the bookshop manager to sign it, popped the invoice in with the books, and posted them off myself.
It was OK to send hard copy books.
It cost me $76 for postage, and because I sent 8 books instead of 4, he wasn`t allowed to have the extra 4 books. grrrrrrrr
In hindsight, I think it would have been much easier and cheaper to have purchased and sent the books thru someone like Amazon!!

I do amazon to my Pp in Florida.

But if you do,note, they,ve only accepted the brand new books I,ve sent (andhe,s got themall) as amazon gioves an option sometimes of buying second hand.Don,t.

They let you put a meassagewith it too,I don,t recall an optio of who to post it with, though.
