Default Sending pictures???

Hello everyone,

I have a quick question for whoever is willing to respond...

When you send an inmate a photograph of yourself, do you HAVE to write their name and number on the back of it? I did not realize this before sending my first-ever letter the other day, and didn't write anything on the back...Do you think that my photo will be thrown away? Lost? Not given to my PP? or returned to me? And if I did not write on the picture, does the letter make it through to the inmate? I'm hoping AT LEAST the letter makes it through, and if I have to, I'll resend a picture the RIGHT way!

Thanks in advance for your help,
Amy

That does depend on the state and the individual prison rules

some states keep the offending item and send in the "ok contents", and the offending item is sent back to you at inmates expense or destroyed, other states kick it all back to you, and some states allow unmarked photos.

So you may not know for quite some time, the quick solution is to call the facility ask for mail room and find out

Hi Amy. When I first started writing to my PPs, I also didn't know about putting information on the backs of the pics. I sent them all pics with nothing written on the back, and all of them were recieved with no problems. However, none of them were in Illinois.
I recently sent some pals a few of my online journal entries. THEN I read that you have to trim off the URL information at the bottom of the page or they won't get it. So I don't know what will happen to those entries.
And by the way... Welcome to the board. :-)
Soon you'll be replying to the "You Know You Have WAP Fever When..." thread. :-)

The best advice I can give is call the facility you are sending them to and ask the mailroom. Every place is different! I have one pal where everything gets through without his name & doc # and another pal that if I don't put his full name (not a nickname) on everything it gets sent back to me.
