 San Quentin Prison on Lockdown SAN QUENTIN - A black history month event leads to another race riot in San Quentin, and the prison is in lockdown. Inmates had just finished the event in the exercise yard when about 40 Hispanic and black inmates began brawling. One inmate was injured and at least 40 homemade knives were confiscated. A prison spokesman called the fight a "planned assault" by the Hispanic prisoners. Sixteen inmates were injured during a larger riot at San Quentin earlier this month.      |
