I watched the program as long as I could then I fell asleep. Aren't you guys glad that you are free? The thought of living in prison gives me the shivers. It's just awful.

Watching that program sure did change my perspective. I understand now why my pp's have such a hard time when it comes to talking about what their lives are like on a day-to-day basis.

One once said to me that he could never explain what it's like in a way that would seem believable. I see now why it would be so difficult. I can’t imagine having to live like that. I can’t imagine what it would be like to live like that for so long then to be sent out into a world that doesn’t really care and probably doesn’t even want you there.

All I can think is … how is this supposed to rehabilitate anyone? How is this supposed to teach people to be a functional part of society?

I’m deeply saddened …

I watched the program last night with a friend of mine. I can't help have compassion for all those women. My friend felt that "they did the crime they do the time". But I think it's crazy how some of them are treated. I know that some of them did bad things, but to be locked up in a small white room with not a single thing but a bed,that's enough to make anyone go crazy! I can't stop thinking about it. I just am glad that I'm not in prison. My pp is male, but it kinda gave me a taste of some of the things that go on in prisons. Thank God for this web site and all the wonderful people who take the time to be there for these men and women in their time of need.
