I have been writing my pp since June. My sis-in-law is my very best friend. She wanted a PP but instead of selecting one from WAP or any other prison pen pal site, my PP and I got his cellie and her to writing one another. It's going great. My pp's cellie is incarcerated because his fiance, the mother of his LAST born child, died in a severe car crash that was a result of his intoxication and losing control of the vehicle.

After writing a couple letters to each other and HER pp being sort of vague, she asked him to OPEN UP to her. He then sent her a letter with this poem he wrote tucked inside. It was so beautiful that I had to share it with everyone.

"Here is everything I have, all I have ever been that might please. Here is my beginning-the dream that drifts beneath the dark swell-and here is the light, here; left cold and alone.

Here is my descent into pain and despair, and these are my mistakes-over and over again. This is my soul that remains, and this is the spirit of me, that exists because of, inside of, inspite of, the pain.

This is my east, my west. This is my journey in search of something-anything better. This, my favorite meal, drink, restaurant, park, road to drive on at midnight; this is where I build tunnels in the snow, went swimming; this, my first kiss; these are the tears of loss; this is the exile and alone, and recovery, awe, joy; these are the flowers that she loved; this is her coffin and all the flowers about it; these are the colors of music that I love, this, the face of my children, so alike, so different-so lost, so loved, and this is all the ones who I loved and have loved me.

See all these things heat the spirit and cool within the mind-that are incased in my memory and within myself. I now give them to you, so that you may know me too, if you desire; if you will."

Did this pal give your sister in law permission to post it in a public domain? it sounds kind personal to me, very beautiful heartfelt words that have a special meaning to him and what he was writing about in a private letter.

No, my sis in law didn't have permission to post in public domain....BUT I DID.....I personally asked him, myself. Thanks, glad you all enjoyed it....Pam
