hi is it possbile for your pp to call you collect form a cell phone. i dont have a house phone but i have cell phone andi was wondering is it possbile for him to call me on it collect. thanks

Yes there is a company you can go through, where you can receive your calls on a cellphone. And their rates are cheaper than going through MCI, AT$T or all the other companies.

Had a friend who used one of those companies, it worked for awhile until they switched over their phone system (the prison) and it no longer worked, they are really crackin down on that. Good luck to you!!

I am going to send callng cards or money for my pals to purchase them if I can't had you considered that option? gd4or what company is that you are referring to I would be interested in that option also if you could post ithanks in advance. Or is calling cards a cheaper way to go?

As far as I know, most state prisons only allow collect calls to a land line. In federal prisons they allow calls to a cell phone,I have one guy in a federal prison that calls mine from time to time, but he has access to a calling card, so it's not a collect call. I also use one of these alternative phone companies instead of MCI and it's great. It might be worth looking into it because they give a different number for your pal to call but not sure if they can do this with a cell phone...worth a try though because they are A LOT cheaper than the regular companies. There are a few different places that do this but the one we use is the cheapset. I hope they don't wipe this service.

Gd4or we are not using a calling card. He has to call collect. Our calls are $5.90 for 15 min and 30 seconds. With the regular company it would be almost $10 a call. With this company you can receive your collect calls to either your landline or your cellphone.
