| | Photo Etiquette Hi Guys,
I recently acquired a new PP who is a lifer in PA. Anyways I received letter #3 today and enclosed was photo of him and his daughter (side note: she's a cutie pie). What is proper etiquette when you receive a photo from your pal? Do you return it after viewing or do you keep it? I know they often don't get many photos with their kids and I would hate to keep it when he could have it to treasure but I don't wanna offend him either by sending it back. He mentioned nothing in his letter of the photo and whether he wanted it back. Thanks for your input |

| | Re: Photo Etiquette What i have always done is make a copy, and return the original. Unless they write something specific to you on the back of the original picture, then i just return the copy. That way you both win.

most of the times they ask to make a copy if they want the original back.

This is a bit off tread but i just remembered, my bf and i, when we start our relationship, we send eachother the most precious pictures we had (and we didnt had kopies from or negatives). Pictures from our youth and people who passed, just to give eachother something what mean alot. Because we knew for sure, one day we could give them back to eachother.

My Mood: | | Re: Photo Etiquette I think I would hold onto it and like Smiley suggested write him back for now and ask if he would like a copy made. Copies are really inexpensive to get done. Then you can keep one and send him back the original along with maybe 2-3 extras.

My Mood: | | Re: Photo Etiquette I got a pic in my second letter, it was a nice suprise as i wasnt expecting one. As rude as it sounds i hadnt thought he may want it back. I will make a copy and make sure thats the 1st thing i ask him when i write next time. I am glad i found this thread!!!

My Mood: | | Re: Photo Etiquette Generally they do appreciate the copies being made and its really inexpensive to get it done. I actually have a friend that does them for me. I have no problems with reasonable requests like that. Its the "send me $200 in the mail so I can buy some brand new designer basketball sneakers" that tend to be a little more troubling. lol
