Hi - I have just had a letter from my PP and in it he said he is only allowed one phone call a year! That seems awful - I never realised that's all he would be allowed. I'm sure it varies from state to state - he is in North Carolina, and we are not at the stage where we would be talking to each other on the phone yet, but I can't see it ever happening now. He has family that he has to call first. Have to keep up with the letters, I suppose!

I've never heard of one call per YEAR! I thought Texas was bad with one call every 90 days.

Do you suppose he meant to write 'one phone call per month'?

I have two pals in N.C. and they both call me every week. One usues the regular phone, the other has an illegal cell. So the once a year sounds awfully strange. Maybe he meant once a month? Just ask him when you write again.

it is interesting that illegal cell phone was brought up. I visited my PP a week ago, and she says that cell phone posession is getting to be real common where she is. In this place it is easy to just throw things over the fence. You would have to see this place to understand why it would be so easy to do so, however ONE call in a year, seems strange.

I have a pp in NC and he gets 2 a month for ten minutes but He was in High, now he is moving to medium. He still only gets 10 minutes but He can call unlimited in 10 min increments. There seems to be alot of new prisons being built there so maybe eventually he will get his points down and move somewhere new where the phone situation is better. )

Unlimited 10 minute increments seems to benefit nobody but the phone company. That really sucks !

And when its on my cell and the connection drops -Grrrrr! So I have several one minute calls that cost as much as 10 -ten minute calls. Also with the phone company mergers I notice it went from att to some globalnet? I know how these phone brokers work,,waiting on charges from this new company. He might find himself back to two ten minutes a month in my book!
