are deathrow inmates allowed to use the phone? does anyone know?

In Texas only lower risk offenders are allowed a 1.....5 min call every 90 days if they've been on good behavior.

That is just cruel! It took a very sick mind to think up that rule...and I mean that seriously!

Sweet...maybe you should re-post the threads with a header "phone calls from death row?"...then you will attract those that write to DR inmates. Just a suggestion.

My pp is on DR in georgia. He is allowed to make phone calls but Im not sure how long they are. I think its 1 call a month, but dont know if its 5 mins or 15 mins. My LWP pp in AL gets one 20 call a month, and this month they messed up and barred all his numbers so he spent 20 minutes trying to get through to all his family members and couldnt speak to anyone. He was very cross.

My guy is in Texas and he is allowed, just like any other inmate in texas, one 5 minute phone call every 90 days and they are expensive...so we dont even go there

Skye How expensive? I'm in Mississippi also. One call every 90 days seems a bit hard. I'm writing to someone in Texas and last letter she asked if I had a phone. I guess it wouldn't cost to much, only 5 min. every 90 days.

The last time we did the phone call thing it was 19.95 charged to my bill. Now for her to call ya, you have to be on her visitor's list.
