Linda Van Pool, 36, of Donora, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors and other crimes. Van Pool is the second person charged in the case. In May, Kathleen Waggoner, also of Donora, was arrested on the child endangerment and corruption charges. Waggoner, a bartender, gave Van Pool the money to pay for his time with at least two prostitutes, police said. Van Pool is charged with actually taking the boy to the prostitutes. Click here for FOXNews.com's Crime center. Both women have pleaded not guilty. Nobody answered the phone at Pool's home Friday, and Waggoner did not immediately return a message requesting comment. |

| Lets just say for argument sake she did actually do this. Why in the world does someone need to take a 12 year old boy to a prostitute??

| I just cant even wrap my head around it. I saw a movie once, i think it had Clint Eastwood and I cant remember the title now but it takes place i think in the 30s in the rural south or something like that and he is a sinlge parent of a boy about 12 or 13 and does take him to a prostitute to "become a man". That was context though and you needed to look at the time frame in which it was taking place. That was probably quite traditional. People also didnt live as long and 40 would be considered a ripe old age so things needed to move along in a persons life. Okay that I can kind of grasp. But this? Not so much

| I didnt even read where it was honestly or I heard the name but it rang no bells. Well be that as it may, this might very well be a cultural differance and us city folks dont/wont get it. That doesnt make it right and it also doesnt not make it child abuse. Im sorry but I would always be willing to take a closer look at the region and differing cultural standards, HOWEVER, the ladies are pleading innocent...so. Im curious as to their side arent you a little?

| That might very well be the situation at hand. I was thinking (dont ask me why) but say I was a public defender or something trying to represent this case. The only possible defense I could come up with would be in fact perceived social identification in the area they reside Vs/ standard main stream society's views on normal sexual behavior and child abuse. That wouldnt wash but it would be all I could think of under duress. Or else these ladies know damn well what they did was pretty darn sick and they will try to say they passed the boy off to a friend who happens to be a prostitute and paid her for "babysitting".
