I read BOTH books about this case. I don't write to Paul, nor did I think he'd be on any pen pal site. Someone said they didn't think Karla should be getting out so soon. I agree, as I feel that she was just as 'into' what they did as he was, but simply used the battered wife syndrome. Even if she WAS the battered wife, she could have gotten help after the FIRST one and not continue to participate in the crimes. Just my opinion though. Does Paul show any remorse? I know at trial he didn't, and some accounts say he blamed it all on Karla. As for Karla, I wonder if her family is still supportive of her? I know it'd be hard for me to be that supportive if she could harm her own sister. But then again, that's something one can't say how they'd react until they have experienced it. I truly hope they both are 'rehabilitated' and that life goes on for them.

He still maintains his innocence & blames it ALL on her. He doesn't like to talk about it much. The funny thing about him though, is he is very intelligent, still hard to believe that he did all those rapes & murders. He is currnetly writing a novel & is looking for a publisher.

I would guess that if he is still blaming Karla and proclaims he is innocent is a good indicator that he has no remorse. I read about his crimes and they are truly appalling. You are a bigger person than I am as I could never correspond with someone as monstrous as he is. I can't get past the rape, torture, and then murder of helpless women. And he would defecate on their faces as well. It would be my hope that neither he or his wife would get out of prison - ever.
